That. That, and more That

Pointing is a really big deal around here. Since turning 1, our little companion seems to finally have the hang of a few important milestones and pointing is right at the top of the list. Uly points if he wants it, he points if he doesn't want it, and he points if he just sees it. In turn, Mommy does the same thing which is VERY funny. Gavin and I are really enjoying bearing witness to the real things that catch his eye and not just what's put in front of his face.

We're also seeing some preliminary attempts at running now that walking is established. This scares the hell out of me. Last week Uly had his first big fall that resulted in a chipped tooth and bruised face. Poor kid.

Uly is a dynamo. Mama is tired. He's hit a learning curve and every week he's into something new. The "thing" right now is pointing. Uly LOVES this. Not only has he discovered that other people can see what he's seeing, but that they can be COMMANDED to observe at his discretion.

Na-na's is the name he's given to the, um... mommy food-delivery system, and for a few, sweet days he would say "mama, NA-NA'S!" in declaration of his intention to be fed/cuddled. He's now dropped "mama" and only hollers "Na-na!". This is the equivalent of: "hey boobs, get over here".

*sigh*

My toddler is already starting to think like a man...

Closing in on Year 1

Yep. A whole year has almost gone by. Uly doesn't know it, but he's going to have his first birthday party on the 16th! Between now and then, I plan on listing events and milestones we've accomplished in that time. Heck, with such a busy baby I think being able to make a list constitutes a milestone!
