Totally tired, man.
It's all good :)
Today Uly found his long-gone Baby Doll and used his newly discovered mothering skills to nurse and pamper him. It was both creepy and very sweet. He insisted that Baby Doll wouldn't stop crying and thus needed to spend some time in the crib. He wiped it's rear-end about 500 times with a wet wipe and nearly went to tears when I wouldn't permit him to use the "butt cream" (Desitin). Although perhaps a little too attentive, Uly is a very good Mama.
Am I allowed to say that??
Ok, so now onto Leo.
This baby is freakin' A awesome. First class baby, all the way. Unless he is hungry, sleepy, or needs a fresh nappy, this kid is rational. You can talk him out of almost any level of hysteria, and if you play your cards right you might end up with a laughing baby. Yep, Leo laughs.
Two months old and this kid laughs, smiles, imitates sounds, ROLLS OVER from front to back AND back to front (twice that I've personally witnessed), pushes himself up on is forearms to look around, chews on his hands and anything you might have put in his hands, AND he sleeps in three hour blocks during the night. FOR REAL. Dream baby, fer shure.
Right now Leo is sleeping in his little crib (he likes that for naps) and Uly is in the bed next to him. I plucked Uly off of his father who was mowing the lawn (the most reliable way to get him asleep, though this isn't a planned affair) and little Leo had gone down only minutes prior. Good deal.
I love my boys.

Baby Leo Is Here!

Mr. Leo was born March 23, 2010 around 3PM! Eight pounds and 19.5 inches long!
Getting myself together well enough to write a post has taken awhile.
Everyone appears to be adjusting well, albeit slowly. Uly is a great big brother and although he has a few moments now and again (Leo stop crying... please?) I think he's doing remarkably well with the change. Leo seems to be glad to be out and he's already packed on about three pounds since birth (good boy). He's wiggly and wonderful! His latest feats include discovering some motor control over his arm (the left one) and everyday he's able to sit up (with a little assistance) for longer and longer periods of time and even stands holding his own weight for a spell. He smiles and coos, especially at big brother Uly.
Leo typically sleeps very well at night and wakes up every three hours to be nursed, like a good baby. I'm particularly grateful for the chunks of sleep. This is the most sleep I've gotten in what feels like a really, really long time.
Cutting this post short to post pictures because Leo is preparing to wake up from his short nap!

Mommy Have Her Wallet?
So I'm 33 weeks pregnant and clearly loosing my mind. I lost my wallet for the first time in my life the other day (thank you, Mexican Restaurant for keeping safe and intact for me), I don't remember how to spell simple words, and I've all but given up getting a good nights' rest for the next year. Luckily I have Uly to help. He often reminds me of the important things in life such as when it's time to take a shower, or how I ought to be careful driving down the driveway because "break car no-good lou-pa (my parents) would be very sad". It's nice. I'm going to really miss these reminders when he's all grown up and bossing someone else around for a change.
Today though, today was different. I took Uly too a little soda fountain here in Clinton called Hoskins and we met Lisa (a family friend) and ate a nice cheap and greasy little lunch of grilled cheese sandwich, hot dogs, fries and chocolate shake (all ordered expertly by him) and when we were finished we looked at all of the pretty thing in the gift-store area for awhile, paid and left. I buckled him in his car seat and then hoisted myself into the vehicle and even managed to shut the door by myself--but as I leaned forward to put the key in the ignition Uly piped up and asked this question: "Mommy have her wallet??".
Blew. My. Mind. This 2.5 year old kid was making sure I didn't forget my wallet again. Amazing.
Maybe I should have let him drive me home.
